Dr Richard Trushkowsky graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 1971. He completed two years of active duty in the army at Fort Gordon Georgia. He received a commendation from his commanding officer for his work. During that period, he completed rotations in prosthetics, endodontics and oral surgery.

Upon leaving the service he completed one year  of both endodontics and periodontics. He served as Vice President of the Richmond County Dental Society. Formerly, Director of Operative Dentistry at Staten island University Hospital. He is currently Associate Professor and Associate  Director of International Aesthetics at New York University College of Dentistry. He also teaches in the Post Graduate Esthetic Program in the Rosenthal Institute at NYU.

He has lectured internationally and authored many articles on esthetic restorative procedures and dental materials. He wrote the chapter on direct composites in an Esthetic Dentistry book published by CV Mosby and a chapter on indirect restorations in Dental Clinics of North America. He is a member of many honorary dental societies and has completed more than 2000 hours continuing education.

Dr Trushkowsky has practiced on Staten Island at the same location since 1978.
